Hispanic Family Values The Hispanic Family Values Organization recognizes that diversity and culture are what makes the human narrative as interesting as it is.  We believe that it is the plan of God for all people to be one in the same Spirit but to express that oneness through cultural and individual uniqueness. Our organization believes that the Traditional Hispanic Values of Faith, Family and Freedom encompasses true liberation, not only for Hispanics but for those who are intent on living a dignified life full of purpose.

The Mission of the Hispanic Commonweal and Hispanic Family Values

* To provide general assistance to the Hispanic community through various resources and outreach programs.

* Create a network of volunteers to provide grass roots assistance in accessing healthcare, education, financial services and family programs that promote healthy bodies, minds and communities.

* Provide local Hispanic communities with comprehensive information on political issues that affect the solidarity of the Traditional Hispanic Values of Faith, Family and Freedom in order to promote a positive and informed participation in government.

Solutions

* Conduct workshops and community gatherings on a grass roots level.

* Use various media outlets like the blogosphere to disseminate the conservative voice and advertise upcoming events and services provided, such as in church bulletins, Hispanic magazines/newspapers and the Internet.

* Continue to procure qualified volunteers for practical/professional assistance and fund raising.

* Gather the support of local and state government agencies and officials.

Vision Summary

It is the primary purpose and mission of the Hispanic Commonweal to promote the general welfare of local Hispanic communities in Southeast Wisconsin.  It is the Hispanic Commonweal’s vision to create an informed community of Hispanics that participate, support and create an environment that is concerned with the physical and mental well being of its neighbors and to achieve this vision by promoting solidarity within the Traditional Hispanic Values of Faith, Family and Freedom.

Faith

When the HCW refers to Faith we unequivocally speak of the cultural Traditions and spirituality of the Christian faith.  People of other faiths, who share our vision, are welcome and encouraged to partake in our mission.  That being said, It is Traditional Christian tenets that have defined the Hispanic people, as a whole, for many centuries regardless of geography and the HCW wants to continue and promote these values unapologetically.

Family

Nothing is more identifiable to the Hispanic identity than la familia.  However, there has been a consistent breakdown of the traditional family structure over the past half century by all American cultures.  Because of this breakdown many Hispanics continue to find themselves marginalized, uneducated and without appropriate representation in most sectors of society.  The Traditional culture and nature of the Hispanic people provides a strong sense of solidarity.  This solidarity is expressed by the community through a healthy familia.  The HCW understands this need for a strong familia and will work to provide a network of resources that provide assistance to support the future of Hispanic families and their unique goals.

We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community... Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.”

Cesar Chavez

Freedom

The HCW defines freedom simply as our ability to be everything that we can be, to live life to the fullest extent of our abilities as individual human beings.  The HCW understands that in order to achieve this goal there will be times that governmental assistance may be necessary.  The fine line between subsidiarity (an organizing principle that matters ought to be handled by the smallest, lowest or least centralized competent authority starting with the single family unit.) and governmental subsidy needs to be widened and whether this line should be crossed at all is to be determined by the individual and their family first and not by any form of government.  Physical health is an important part of living life to the fullest and the HCW believes that we should make all resources available in order to educate the people on matters of their health.  Second only to physical well being, the relationship between education and freedom goes without saying.  The HCW will be a resource center, an informational hub, for all different forms of educational options in order to ensure a better future for our community and for all Americans as a result.  Without freedom we believe that our capability of practicing our Traditions of Faith and Family would be much more difficult if not impossible and that is why the HCW supports both individual freedoms and the freedoms that come from solidarity.

Conclusion

The Hispanic Family Values Organization recognizes that diversity and culture are what makes the human narrative as interesting as it is. It is a major part of our mission to express the solidarity that Traditional Hispanic Values have with other cultures.  We believe that by living by Traditional Hispanic principles we become one in Spirit with all other cultures that find purpose in the same values, values that we believe have been given by God our creator. The Hispanic Commonweal expects that all people who share our values regardless of race or ethnicity would find comfort and a home within our organization.  We have not organized to separate ourselves and posture for benefits that reward only those with Hispanic names. We have organized “in order to form a more perfect union” for all Americans.
